Superbowl Update:  The picks are updated with some Prop bets and a 7 point teaser.

The spread keeps creeping down, now Panthers -5 almost everywhere, and the totals are mostly 44. I updated again, right now to me it looks like the Panthers with a strong cover.

Hi Superbowl Fans! 

Superbowl!  Good defense wins football games, and the Broncos, with the number 1 defense, prove that.  The Panthers clearly have the better offense, Cam Newton is in great shape, ready to go. Manning is past his prime, but may have one great game still in him, if his offensive line can keep him safe. Most handicappers are focused on how this game hinges on the ability of the Carolina Offense to overcome the Denver Defense. The Panther defense should get some respect too, they may be able to get past a weak line and get to Manning. If so, the score could become lopsided, fast.

Cam will be the difference, his mobility and running ability will give the Panthers the edge. The spread is 5.5 to 6 points.

NFL Conference Championship Playoffs are Tomorrow! The weather still looks good for both games, and the fields are in good shape on the path to the Superbowl.  

The NFL Picks stay the same plus a teaser is added. Both the Patriots and the Panthers should win and both are probable to cover the spreads. The public thinks so too, most SU and ATS betting is on the favorites. Of course anything can and often does happen in professional football, especially in playoff games. Posting the lines a bit early this week.

NFL Divisional Playoffs! Last weekend had a bit of everything in it. Wild finishes and strange events, especially that Steelers/Bengals game. Foolish player actions cost the Bengals that win,  but that sure helped me,  4-0 sweep on the straight up picks, and 3-0-1 on the ATS predictions.  Final NFL Regular season went pretty well this year, positive units in all NFL Picks categories, you can see the results here: NFL Picks Results  

 

Congratulations to the Alabama Crimson Tide on the National Championship. More on this tomorrow with the final picks. NCAA games are updated. NCAA Picks Results

 

This week the home teams are well rested, with an extra week off, with time to work on game plans and practice newly designed plays. The NFL Playoffs Outlaw Line Straight Up predictions mostly favor these home teams with one exception.  For the NFL ATS Playoff Predictions this week, these spreads look pretty high to me,  some of these home teams may not cover.

Wild Card Weekend! NFL Playoffs! It's been another great season in NFL Football and now we decide who goes to the Superbowl!  The first round of playoffs is usually a cakewalk for the home teams, but this year may just be different.

For the final week of the NFL 2015 season a couple teams may rest their key players so I have made some notes on the ATS Picks Page. The REDSKINS will definitely rest the starters, the Seahawks are likely also, the Patriots say they won't. Sunday will be an interesting day! For straight up picks, it looks like the Patriots, Panthers and Steelers should all get wins.  In the ATS Picks, the Bengals, Chiefs and Texans top the list to cover at home.

NFL Football! Final Picks for Week 16.  Some very high spreads and playoff berths on the line in several games. At this point, I am going light on units, due to some big spreads, and there are motivational questions for Week 16. In the AFC, the Chiefs and the Steelers have it all on the line and will push hard for the wins to get into at least wild card slots on the path to the Superbowl.  For the NFC,  the Vikings and Seahawks both want a win, and the rest of the picture is complex, with the Falcons, Rams, Bucs, Eagles and Giants all needing a win to have a shot.  I look for some serious football this week. Other considerations, will the banged up Patriots, and maybe the Bengals and Cardinals relax and rest some key players? Expect the Panthers to do what it takes to remain unbeaten.

In the NFL Straight Up Picks, the Chiefs and the Seahawks along with the Steelers top the list of likely winners, and the Panthers look highly probable to pick up the win, remaining undefeated.  In the NFL Picks against the spread, Carolina should cover Falcons,  Houston should get the outright win with Hoyer healthy,  and the Chiefs should cover the Browns.

Games are too often being decided by officials. Consistent inconsistency seems to be the norm. One crew calls them tight, another crew gives the players leeway. A closer look is needed.

Championship weekend for most of college football, and a path to bowl games and the CFP title games. A lot at stake this weekend and you can expect to see these teams play to the best of their ability, or even better than that!

In the NCAAF Straight up predictions,  the strong favorites dominate the top of the list,  Baylor should dominate road dog Texas, Arkansas State should cover visiting underdog Texas State, and home favorite Georgia Southern looks good to cover Georgia State.   NCAAF ATS picks were tough to call but there are a few good probabilities, Michigan State offers strong value over underdog Iowa, New Mexico State should keep it close against UL Monroe, and Alabama should cover Florida. Upsets? Temple could do it to Houston!

For the NFL Straight Up picks, the Patriots get back on the winning track over the Eagles, the Bengals defeat the Browns, and the Panthers get the win over the Saints.  NFL ATS Picks have all road favorites as the top Hot Picks;  the Broncos to cover the home dog Chargers,  the road favorite Bengals to cover the Browns, and the Panthers to cover the home dog Saints.  Upsets?
