NFL Football! Final Picks for Week 16.  Some very high spreads and playoff berths on the line in several games. At this point, I am going light on units, due to some big spreads, and there are motivational questions for Week 16. In the AFC, the Chiefs and the Steelers have it all on the line and will push hard for the wins to get into at least wild card slots on the path to the Superbowl.  For the NFC,  the Vikings and Seahawks both want a win, and the rest of the picture is complex, with the Falcons, Rams, Bucs, Eagles and Giants all needing a win to have a shot.  I look for some serious football this week. Other considerations, will the banged up Patriots, and maybe the Bengals and Cardinals relax and rest some key players? Expect the Panthers to do what it takes to remain unbeaten.

In the NFL Straight Up Picks, the Chiefs and the Seahawks along with the Steelers top the list of likely winners, and the Panthers look highly probable to pick up the win, remaining undefeated.  In the NFL Picks against the spread, Carolina should cover Falcons,  Houston should get the outright win with Hoyer healthy,  and the Chiefs should cover the Browns.

I got a lot of email about a pick for tonights game, since I usually don't release college picks till Thursday. The game tonight has UL Lafayette visiting Arkansas State. The line is Arkansas State Red Wolves -7 with totals points expected 57.

Both teams are undefeated in the Sun Belt Conference, so this is an important game for each of them, most likely it will clinch a bowl bid for the winner.

Prediction?

The home teams wins, 64% probability, the visitor covers, 56% probability and the game goes over the 57 points, 54% probability.

Louisiana-Lafayette 27
Arkansas State 31

Last week in the NFL was tough, but we managed to find some value and dodge the traps along the way, plus find a good teaser.  This week the NFL ATS units are being spread a bit deeper.

For NFL Predictions Week 6 Straight Up have the unbeaten elite NFL teams maintaining their status. The Packers look good for the easy win at home hosting the Chargers, the visiting Patriots are highly probable for the win over the Colts, and the Broncos should prevail over the home dog Browns. In the NFL Predictions ATS, Denver tops the list as highly probable to cover at Cleveland, Green Bay is strong for the cover over visiting San Diego, and New England should cover home dog Indianapolis.

In the NCAAF Week 7 straight up Top Hot Picks, home teams top the list of picks, with Toledo highly likely to beat Eastern Michigan, and Georgia Southern highly likely to win over New Mexico.  In the NCAAF ATS picks,  two road favorites are the top picks, Nevada For the win and cover at Wyoming, and Marshall for the win and cover at  Florida ATL. Also, Ohio at home should cover Western Michigan.

Final NFL and NCAA Football Picks for the week are posted.

This week in the NFL Week 13 picks, some strong moneyline favorites top the spreadsheet this week, with the Colts strongly favored to win at home over the REDSKINS, the Bengals should prevail as road favorites over the Bucs, and the Dolphins should get the win over the home dog Jets.  The ATS Picks this week offer some good value, the Dolphins should cover the home dog Jets, the road favorite Bengals look strong for the cover over the Bucs, and the home favorite Bills should cover the Browns. I still like the Eagles for the Upset over the Cowboys. And there is a ton of public money on the Giants, might be a good fade.

 

NCAAF Week 14 traditionally matches up traditional rivalries, interstate opponents, long term foes and usually offers some surprises, as players and teams often will rise above their ability.  Watch for it this weekend and enjoy the games! Straight up picks feature home favorite Kansas State Over Kansas, Baylor over home dog Texas Tech, and home favorite Memphis over Connecticut. Picks ATS are a bit more difficult, road dog BYU should cover at California,  road dog North Texas should cover at UTSA, and home dog Virginia Tech looks good for the cover over Virginia.

This week in the NFL ATS Picks  those road dog Patriots still look strong against the Bengals, for the win and the cover, the Panthers should prevail and cover on the road over the Cardinals, and the road dog Lions look to keep it close and cover.

The NCAAF ATS Picks Florida Intl is getting 17 points on the road against Southern Miss, that should be enough to cover, Cincinnati should cover against South  Florida and South Carolina hosts Kentucky, they look good for the home win and cover.

A bit late today, some of the Consensus Survey sites are still late, due to Sandy.

 

I have a lot of units at stake this week, for NFL ATS the Texans, the Bears and the Lions look to have value and should cover, and the Falcons look close enough to risk a unit. Monday night I see the Eagles keeping it close, should be a good game.

 

For the NCAA picks, TCU should keep it close with W Virginia, and Oregon St and Cincinnati should cover.

 

The NFL ATS Picks will be updated on Saturday ( Sat. for sure this week, lol ) with a change or two, and maybe a teaser. When the update is posted, I will send a new email as well as post it on the blog, twitter and facebook.

The system is starting to kick in and the NFL ATS Picks look to have value. Looks like the home teams will do well this week, the Ravens, Falcons and Cardinals should cover. In the NFL Moneyline Picks, the confidence level is very high for the top picks.

The NCAA ATS Picks do have a hot pick in Toledo as a road favorite, and there is some confidence Kentucky will cover at Arkansas.

A tough week for picks this week, but there looks to be some value in the NFL ATS Picks, the 49ers at home look good against the road dog Bills, and the Ravens on the road to KC may just be a blowout. And I still have some faith in the Seahawks.

The NCAA ATS Picks are pretty bland, the WMU Broncos host Massachusetts as a very strong favorite.

HI football fans!

Welcome back! The 2012 Football Season is officially underway with Week 1 of the NCAA College Football games this weekend. It seems like forever since the last real football game!  I do not count NFL Exhibition games (Read scrimmage/practice contests) as real football, LOL. There are some good games this weekend, and a few surprises in store for us. Keep in mind on opening NCAA weekend typically stronger higher ranked teams bring in weak opponents and then proceed to demolish them. This year there are a few exceptions, like MSU hosting Boise St, and Michigan vs Alabama!
