Super Bowl! Broncos. Seahawks. New Jersey. Weather, cold weather.

Last week the NFL Championship Round played out as the favorites won, the favorites covered the spread and the bookies celebrated. The two best teams in the game earned their spot in the Super Bowl.

The Broncos vs the Seahawks appears statistically to be a very evenly matched game. Looking back at common opponents, both teams beat the Giants, the Titans, the Jaguars, and the Texans, both teams lost to the Colts. A case can be made the Broncos did a slightly better job of it.  A tough game to handicap.

NFL Week 17 already! The 2013 regular season has flown by, it seems, and now we are setting the stage for the NFL Playoffs, on the path to the SUPERBOWL!  The final NFL week is always a challenge, with teams resting, teams desperate to make the playoffs, and even some teams trying to get a better draft position. None of which, of course, is supposed to be happening. Last week I thought Seattle would rest in the second half, I never once thought they would sleep through the entire game.

This week the NFL Outlaw Line is statistically determined, and for the final picks, I'll try to make some "team motivation" adjustments. So far the Patriots look good hosting the Bills, the Eagles will keep it close, and may even win one in Dallas, and Chiefs are getting  good value at +10 verses the Chargers.

The Good News? We are getting closer to the NFL Playoffs and then the SUPERBOWL!

The Bad News? Handicapping the NFL is getting tougher and tougher each week. Watch for some weather effects this weekend, and the start of some teams coasting a bit and some fighting desperately for a win or a playoff berth. Combine the two and it gets to be challenging. Game of the week? Bears @ Eagles! Should be an all out old fashioned brawl.

This week the Seahawks favored at home should dominate the Cardinals, clinching the division and playoffs HFA, the Bengals should handle the road dog Vikings and grab a playoff spot, and Denver should easily handle the home dog Texans, but may coast a bit in the second half.
